Default RE: Why does some people want a speed bow?

Your Majesty,
That was the funniest post I've read in a long time! Thank you!

This quote from Buckmagnet is the way I feel about the subject at hand:
"For me its because my 384 grain arrow at 328 f.p.s. gives me 93 ft-lbs of KE (enough to blow through ANY animal in North America) and it allows for a small pin gap which means that if I misjudge the yardage by a yard or two I am still going to put it in the boiler room!"

I don't shoot a speed bow nor do I shoot a bow for speed. I shoot my bow because I like it. I've shot a couple newer bows (newer than mine) that shoot a lot faster, even using my personal arrows. The latest was an Airborne, I don't know which one, but the draw, noise and handshock was nada compared to my bow which I bought new in 2003. The bow had the same poundage as mine 72# but it shot my 400grn arrow in the neighborhood of 315-320 a good 40 fps faster. How can this be a bad thing?
