Round here the buck starts out bigger than a doe even while still an embyro and will be bigger all it's life. This explains why so many buttons are shot while the shooter thinks it's the mom to the smaller deer. As proof of the size difference I offer the following pic feom a doe I shot this year in late season. WARNING: The following pic is graphic of the embyo's that doe was carrying. The buck already has knobs for the antlers behind the ear knobs and overall already shows a size difference.
