Default RE: Head space gauge

Got my Hornady head space kit and for the first time in my very short reloading career I have my FLS die properly set for head space for the caliber I am reloading now. I have my FLS die set to bump the shoulder back 0.001" now. I checked some of my cases that were sized without the head space bushing to set the die properlyand the shoulders were bumped back about 0.005" and some even more. I suspected some head space issues because I was getting primers that were not what you'd call flat but flatten a tiny bit without any other signs to suspect high pressures of any kind so everythng I had read said to check for excessive head spacing. The new gauge is a handy little thing.
