I bought my son a win model 70 compact in 243 when he was 10-- what a great round. he's taken4 deer since then, plus a pronghorn and 150ib boar w it.95 or 100 grains. this year he's stepping up to the 06, we're headed for wyoming for elk, mulies-- no room for the243 there... good luck.
