I shoot an 03 Razortec at 5grs per pound and 28" draw and can shoot 297fps. When I first shot the bow with these arrows I was shooting 282. There are a lot of ways to gain a little here and a little there and in my case that amounted to 15fps. To say that someone cannot shoot 300fps with a 27" draw without going below 5grs/lb is not really fair. I think it could be done. A custom string and cable set with only 12 strands will give a considerable hike in speed, then shooting the bow with the arrow going directly through the rest mounting hole in the riser and having the limb bolts tight to the riser will make the bow shoot at top performance. Then you can gain little bits with speed buttons on the string and arrow spine can even play a role. Shorten your serving to about two inches, shoot without a peep aligner, etc. There are ways to reach that 300 mark for just about everyone.
