most recurves decrease 3lbs per inch so a #57@28 would be 45 @24 their are alot of good recurves for short draws. It all depends on whether you want a custom bow or not.(it sometimes takes a year to get one). their are some production bows that might work like the martin rebel or the bear supermag48. As far as poundage goes, anthing over 40 will do fine on deer. I got a passthrough on a doe last year with a #45 bear kodiak hunter at 20 yards with a magnus 2 blade head.
