micah, yes that is exactly what I use it for. You can get the double ball release clipped on a bit faster then the talon, and you can leave the release on the bow while not in use. I think that you will probably pay in the order of $35 for the extra head, I believe that comes with the double ball nock (which I think is worth about $13 by itself). It is worth it to me because I can change the head without changing the feel of the release at all. I don' t like the idea of changing the entire release style for hunting after you have used the other one all summer shooting with. Kind of get the best of both worlds by just having the extra head.
