RE: Cabelas 5mm neopreme waders.
I have used the 1600 gram 5 mm Super Mag Cabela's waders for a couple of years now. I like them a lot. I noticed some wet spots on my pants this past weekend while hunting in them. I don't know if I splash water into them -- which is possible, but how does the water get down to the back of my legs but not my butt, my back, or my front? -- or if there is a leak. I have to break ice going into my hunting spot from time to time -- four mornings this season -- and I do worry about sharp edges of the ice possibly cutting into the neoprene rubber waders. The wet spots do not make me cold and do not extend down to my feet. I'm not going to worry about it until it gets worse. Maybe it is just sweating? I know it is hardwork walking in to my spot and maybe my legs sweat there?
I can say I have never been even close to cold in those waders. I used to wear polypropylene long underwear bottoms, but I stopped doing that the last several outings. There just is no point or need, as the 5 mm neoprene just doesn't let you get cold.
