If i had used the adjustable rear sight, i would have had to remove a lot of metal on the front sight to slim it down.
Hey Gander, don't slim down the front sight - open up the adjustable rear sight wide enough to see some light on each side of the front sight.

I have a new .54 Great Plains flintlock also (1 in 60" twist). Haven't shot it yet except for trying out a few pans full of powder. Sparks real well. I love the way it feels - just hangs out there real steady. I bought an extrafactory adjustable rear sight and am in the process of modifying it toan aperturesight something like the LOL Hardware Store sight I made for my Zouave, except the one for the GP will be adjustable and a lot trimmer. I'll post some pictures if I getit working right.

And Cayugad, we all know you're going to end up withboth the KRB and GPR sooner or later. May as well get it over with andget them now.
