My grand father had a pole trap over his chicken coop ,as a kid I lived to get up in the morning to check for great horned owls.
They are far more plentiful than many believe. He hated them and wood chucks. But I really think he did more harm trying to kill them with an old single shot 12 gauge then either of them ever did to the farm.[]
