Default RE: Crossbow strikes twice in one week!

Just an update: Initially I was going to get an antler mount on this elk due to lack of funds, but everyone I showed a picture to convinced me to do a full shoulder mount. He didn't score as much as I thought he wouldat first. I scored him @ 329 gross and 317 4/8 net, but for this area, he's a monster. Just a side note (suggestion), if you ever get a chance to bowhunt elk, use a heavy arrow/ bolt. I have lost a cowelk shooting a 500 gr. bolt from this same crossbow (perfect placement, but poor penetration). I've learned that for elk, bolt weight is all-important. The bolt I shot at this bull was 625 gr. It didn't hit any bones that I could see (went between ribs on both sides) so maybe I was a bit light since it didn't completely exit.
