No, I'm not wording it very well. It's not excess wax buildup. There are 2 bundles of strings twisted together, ivory and green. The green bundle is taller than the ivory bundle, but only in this 8 inch section. Everywhere else the 2 bundles are flush w/ each other. It's like the green bundle is a ridge.
