RE: 7mm-08 Model 7
A buddy of mine has hunted with a Mod 7 S/S for several years in 7mm-08 and loves it.. It's a nice handy little rifle... The only down side IMHO is that the short barrel is LOUD...Sort of cancels one of the benefits of the mild mannered chambering...
My favorite deer rifle is a M700 Mountain rifle in 7mm-08...It's a little bigger than the M7, but it is still a relatively light and handy rifle, and the 22" barrel reduces the muzzle blast enough to make it a real pleasure to shoot...It's noticeably milder to shoot than my .280 Rem or a .270, and really does the job on deer.....
