Default GPS location of stolen items

I went to fill one of my feeders last night and found my camera missing as well as a nearby blind. This is the second time this has happened in the last month. This is private, posted land (450 acres) with all entrances gated.

I have really had enough. I am looking at catching the thieves/thief. I thought that the best way to do this is to use a GPS locator hidden somewhere on the camera/blind and bait the trap.

My question is...does anyone have any experience using these systems. I did a google search and most of the transmitter are about the size of your hand. This would be useless for a camera, but would probably work in a blind.

How well do these systems work? Would the GPS be able to locate the items if they are kept indoors? Any other options?
