RE: Buck Down in NC, got a call.
Shed: THANK YOU! He is a GREAT representation of "my woods". I appreciat eyou pointing that out. YES! It is a tremendous sense of accomplishment to actually take a buck you have been targeting. I know a "little" (I 'guess') of what you must go through each and every season. I can't get to know the deer, here, on the same intimate level you can, there.....because I don't have access to them where they live. I start to see quality deer about this time of year. I know I will hunt MUCH less next year in the early season because of this, though.
First thing my taxidermist said is.....that buck is "at least" 3.5yrs old. He's going to age his jaw bone....and I am cautiously optimistic that he will be 4.5. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he's 5.5, but I know little about this. I only base this on the rack I saw him with in '05....compared to other 2.5 yr olds here. I'll know in a short time, I guess.
GR8.....I never put a tape on him. Never even thought about it. I don't know that I ever will. Maybe one day.
