I tried it on opening morning of bowhunting in MN. I put some on some new strap-on foot pads, walked to stand and kept on while on stand.
I did not see a single deer, but my buddy saw 3 does that came towards us, got spooked and trotted off and then a doe with fawn that did the same thing.
I am not sure if the vanilla was scented and scared them or not.
