Do you think it was an injury or does it look like he was born that way?
It had to be a disease or some genetic problem. The poor guy was only 1.5 years old, and his jaw was so twisted sideways that he could only get his teeth to mesh at one spot. Well over 5 years of wear in that place, andnone anywhere else.
Looking at any other part of him, you'd think he was perfectly healthy.
When I got the skull back from the taxidermist, I took a real good look at it and compared some measurements from one side of his face against the other, and found that his entire skull's bone growth was affected, not just the jaw. The eye sockets were in slightly different places, the plates that make up the skull and nose were all different lengths, and even his antler bases were in different spots and rotated a bit.
