Thanks guys, yes, its curly maple...It's my interpretation of what could have been made and used in the Piedmont of NC during the time of the Revolution...I've shot flintlocks over 30 years, if money was no object I'd be teaching American History or making and talking flintlocks at Williamsburg...
What's funny....after hunting deer for several weeks with a bow, picking up even that flintlock is a big step forward in technology....
