Odd Problem: Possibly String Stretched?
My bow specs are in my signature.
Ok, so my bow should max out at 70lbs. My limb bolts are down all the way, and when I bought the bow new, I measured the draw weight at 70 lbs even.
While shooting the other day, I noticed that my draw length seemed a bit long. I checked my draw length and it's now at 61lbs. My draw length, now that I'm paying attention to it, seems to be about 1/2 to 3/4 inch too long for me. I immidiately checked my Brace Height and ATA...both are perfectly in spec. What's up with that?? Is it possible that the factory string stretched without altering the ATA and BH??
I want to order a Giblet string soon, but right now, money is extremely tight. Buying a house will do that lol. So I figure I could take it in and get the string twisted back to it's 88 3/4 inch length. My local shop only charges $7 for this service. I'm wondering if I'll need all the serving replaced at that time or will it be ok? I don't see any significant wear and tear on the string or serving, otherwise I would just forget about this bow season and wait till early next year to order a new string.
So what do you all think? Try twisting the string and see what that does performance-wise? My arrows are hitting a bit erradic...probably due to the altered draw length. And what's up with the ATA and BH still being in spec??
Kind Regards,
