Default RE: forest fire smoke

Stuck,

I've heard that it was on old indian trick to let "campfire smoke" envelope you before a hunt. Smoke contains lots of carbon so this idea seems logical. Now if you're just talking about huntingan area thats recently been burned I would also think that there may be a kind of temporary predominant and perhapsoverwhelmingscent there that may help ever so slightly over "normal" conditions, but not sure.

Btw, How close is the closest fire to Helena (I lived there for 2 years and was back again early this summer--back when it was raining everywhere then)??
take care

ps. we talked about this same issue in the big game forum for just a minute. I think the thread was "MT elk permits" or something
