I had always thought that one of the requirements of having a 35 Whelen was to reload. Being a wildcat that no gun Manufacturer would make legitimate until Remington did it in '88, meant that anyone wanting one just about had to reload. And reloading for it is just as much fun as shooting it. I can load down to light loads in cast up to 250gr. bear busters, my only problem is I am retired on a limited budget and in the deep south. I even load down to the same as the 35 Remington for some of my deer hunting. As most reloaders will agree with me, there's a certain satisfaction in "rolling your own." You are placing a real handicap on yourself by not giving reloading a try.
Then you don't have to keep looking for a supply of ammo.
