Default RE: fly fishing for carp

Back when I lived in michigan I used to love fly fishing for carp. I would tie small corn cernal flies made from bits of yellow sponge. Keep a half dozen of them in a baby food jar with the juice from a can of corn. I would then toss a few handfulls of corn into the slow water to get the carp feeding and cast my fly into the mix. Another good tactic was to use regular wooly buggers soaked in some of the fishing scents. It seems the carp really lead with thier nose. Expect a subtle bite. It works well in slow or non moving water. You also catch a few turtles this way.
