Default RE: Looking for opions on Reminton SPS 700

Yes the SPS is a very good rifle. I have a 7mm-08, a 223 and a 270 and have had several more and as Rammer said the SPS is basically the ADL with a synthetic stock and 24 inch barrels in all the standard calibers. They are inexpensive and shoot very well right from the box. Although I don't need the extra barrels, I sure wouldn't part with these. Its hard to improve on the hunting accuracy with rifles that start out shooting one inch and usually half that. If I can put three shots under an inch with several loads then for me, that rifle is done fooling with. I had a ADL Synthetic in 257 Robert that put its first three shots into a big 3/8 inch hole with factory Federal 120 grain Partition ammo.

I must add that I could not do that with any rifle in 300 RUM. But thats just me.. I guess on second thought I could shoot a very small group with a 300 RUM. One shot group that is.
