Haven't shot there, but I've been seeing them in shallow backwaters in about 2-4 feet of water since it has been fairly cool.

In the river proper, focus on the downstream side of deadfalls and obstructions that slow down the flow considerably. The lazy water and silt that depositsthere will attract your sludge suckers. Check all coves, feeder creek mouths, and shallow flats where the river is wide and slow.

If it's mainly a rocky bottom, stick to the inside of curves because of the silt (carp food [:'(]) thatfalls out there.
