Sorry fellas...no bird on the board yet. Hard to believe, I was pretty much ready to flick off the safety from 6:50am Saturday through 8am or so. Goes to show roostin aint roastin. Work and family are a bit demanding on me for the rest of the month so it'll have to be in April (not to mention the front that pushed through the last 3 days would have made it even tougher). I got a good late season special opportunity hunt...maybe RPD can hook me up with some intel for the good of the team :-)

Think we were within walkie talkie range of each other last weekend by coincidence. I can vouch for his claim of henned up toms.

I was surprised when I drove up the road today and saw a tom strutting in a field next to a driveway in 2' of snow... First tom I've seen in awhile due to the bombardment of Nor'Easters we've been getting.
couldn't get a pic due to traffic.

Had 2 strutters in the yard yesterday. They had short beards, but full fan and inch spurs. I am assuming the snow/ice broke them off?!

I'll be hitting it hard April 2nd. Might go scout some this week. We've had a wet Feb/March so far.

Got to see a unexpected hen this morning , didn't go scout and pre-watch where I'll be this weekend cause of heavy expected rain , turned around and drove back and was watching a deer feeder in a hay field when she came out , she fed for a half hour in a planted edge until the farmers wife let out their dog. Good luck guys
