Next weekend is Mo youth season. I have to take a bus load of kids to Jeff city on opening day. If me nephew doesn't score then I'll go call for them, if he does, then I'm going to call for our auto tech instructors son. Either way I'll miss opening morning but at least I'll get out with someone. I don't have a youth anymore, lol.

Been a tough season for me so far. Eight days out and zero to show for it. I have another hunt coming up soon.

Default #2 down...

#1 was lousy jake. Had called in a bird for my buddy at 7am and then started hunting for #2. Got on a bird that was across a deep hollow on a pine ridge. Thought we were coming up 100+ yards from him only to find him right above us. A hen and Jake came over the top and the jake didn't like what he saw. Didn't want to waste the hunt so I busted the jake. He had a 5" beard, 3/8" spurs and weighed 15 lbs

Number 2 was a bit more conventional. Called him down out of burnt clear cut. He weighed 21.58 lbs, 9" beard, and NO spurs. I'll see if I can get pics.
