What did the birds score Arrowmaster? The bottom bird looks like a good one. I am waiting for you to post the scores up so I can head over to the trash talk thread. Lol, back in the lead.
|
looks like team 4 got a big one... even with Arrow's bird, that may put them in the lead. Boy do we need those missing bird(s) entered! ugh

We are 64.305 points behind now.
Very sad. I am Not talking about Arrowmaster, he will have his score up soon. ( hopefully 65 points) It only takes 15 minutes at the most to post a score. 5 minutes if you just email your pictures from your phone and have someone post them for you, this was offered. I know he said he is active duty, but if you can hunt and kill 3 birds in different states, weeks apart, you can find time to post a score. |
Ive posted my scores already in the thread. I posted them before I added the pics
|
Arrowmaster, you need to double check that. I checked the pics/ score posted page and team scores, your birds are not shown anywhere.
Thet already updated a couple of birds killed after yours. |
Correct Bornagain... I don't see Arrowmaster's birds showing on submission thread or on the official score post either...
Regardless, we are out of the lead... unless someone who hasn't checked in in some time has connected and comes through or if the other killed birds aren't checked, we may be in trouble. I'm done... tomorrow is the last day and I doubt I can get out due to house projects and then both of my daugthers having softball games (which I coach). I doubt I could catch up to anything any bigger than the biggest bird I shot this season anyway. Fingers crossed we get those other birds checked in. |

Maybe even less. I see someone killed a bearded hen on team 4 and it was scored as 28 pts. In years past, a bearded hen was a flat 25 pts.....it was actually in the rules. Don't know what the ruling on that is. Either way, we need Swamp Slayer to show up for us.
Yes on the bearded hen. For some reason in the rules I omitted the ruling on the bearded hen so that is my fault. I told them to either score the beard and weight or take 25pts whichever gave them the most points. It maybe a long shot but hopefully I can shoot a bigger one in Nebraska memorial day weekend. |

Good luck Arrow....where going to need the points. Without Swamp Slayer showing back up, it will be tough.

Season ended here yesterday. I'm sitting in my living room now looking at a big tom w 2 hens feeding across the ridge. Haha. Of course.
|
I hear you Ma Hunter. Just like deer season, I see them all the way up until the season starts and then they disappear. Almost like they know the season is over.
|
I was out on the back deck last pm grilling and I look up and he's standing there 20 yards from me feeding... not a care in the world. Sliding glass door open into my family room... talking to my daughter. He didn't care! LOL

That's happened to me before, lol. |
We are 68 pts behind now.
We need someone to kill a 70 or 80 pt bird. |
Bornagain, does that include our MIA member who has not posted his birds? It's not looking very good that it will happen.
|
We are behind 68 pts.
Swamp slayer never gave a score, just sayed he " killed a bird and would get it posted". Then he killed another bird and the same. And then he did it again. If he scored 55- 60, hopefully Arrowmaster could add about 10 pts to his bird. And we might have a couple guys out hunting still. I also heard " the fat lady is singer her head off". ( trash talk thread from team 4) |
In all fairness, my fat lady comment was directed to Phil - he's been talking about bagging a 30 pound triple-bearded bird to pull his team back into contention - I told him that bird needs 4 beards and 4 spurs to have a chance!
But you guys - you're definitely still in this contest if SS ever posts anything. However, I don't think he ever posted pics (at least none that I see), let alone scores, so I think you guys are screwed on that one... Personally, I think it would be really cool if this year's contest came down to Arrow's ability to get a bigger bird on the last weekend of the season... |
Strut & Rut, your coment was on the smack talk thread, and was pretty funny.
I have no problem with it, that is what that thread is for. Phil might just pull it off, we have already had some Guiness record book birds killed in this contest. |
I am laughing back at you guys.. Strut&Rut I am laughing at you still.. I wonder if I can even get that bird I want to get right now.. It depends on the weather for starters plus those big birds are very wise. But lets say I do nail that bird and when I pick him up even I get surprised because what I thought was 3 beards turns out o be 5.. Now wouldn't that be awesome and his spurs turns out to be almost 1 1/2 inches.. Now that would be very cool.. But, then again I may not even see that bird? There has been very few birds tagged in this area this year because of the weather we have been having. I still wouldn't say it can't happen just yet.. I remember a few years back one of our team members won the contest with a bird like that.. But I still doubt it would be big enough..

Thank you so much for checking in with me as I was contacted by several of our team. I got cleared for cancer as our daughter. My wife has secondary issues and we haven't been able to do the critical testing for her. It is worrisome. I have been out a few days and my Maine and Ohio trips may not happen at all. CNY has been awful for any gobbling, and our property and our usual haunts are not producing any action at all. Even going old school has not been productive.
I am known for adding a few good birds on the pile, and the fat lady hasn't shown up for the gig yet. I will be out a few mornings this week, and looking to put in a last ditch effort from the holiday weekend through the end. Mike |
That sounds good Mike....take care of the family. Priority one.
We're not out of the contest yet. Put up a good one for us. Ray |
Glad to see you Mooky! Thinking of you all! You'll connect... I have faith!
|
Mike, great to hear from you. Still praying and believing for a good report.
Not really appropiate after saying I am praying for you, I hope the fat lady chokes on her song and you get a bird. If Arrowmaster gets a little bigger bird and swamp slayer ever post a score, we could pull it out. Take care and keep us updated. |

Yep got everything else. I'll try to put it up tonight or tomorrow. He would've scored pretty good if his weight was up. Rocking a 10 inch beard with 1.5 inch spurs.
That makes it harder to swallow that the pics never got posted. |

hunted in a downpour today, little guy had a full fan, strutted and coarse yelped, no gobble. 12lbs 3"beard, 1/4" spurs
|
Congrats Mike. That's a very cool picture. I love the clouds over the trees.
|
Nice job Mookyj. Not the biggest bird in the team, but I would say most deserved. Way to stick it out with all the bad weather.
|
Thanks RPD63 for being our team captain. Lots of extra/unnecessary work this year: people who sign up and never show and others who harvest a bird and never post a score.
I appreciate all you did. With that said, I might take a year off of the contest. It is great to meet other hunters and hear there stories, and the contest is suppose to be fun. I just felt to much aggrevation and stress this year. From the no shows and not posting scores on out team; to high scoring birds with no clear pics to back them up, on the scoring thread. |
Nice job Mooky!!! Congrats!
|
Nice one Mooky, congrats!
|
looks like the only way we will pull this off is if the killed birds from our missing member are posted and if one scores more than 55.3125.
Doesn't look too promising that this is going to happen... but it's been fun boys... we held our own with pretty much half a team contributing... |
We did do pretty good!

Very nice Mike. Congratulations
