Jorgy checking in........

I will give you a brief history of my turkey hunting experience, shot a hen last fall while bow hunting for mule deer. Was that brief enough?

New to the game of turkeys, so I might bug some of you with questions. I have been gearing up over the winter with some decoys and calls. Absolutely suck with mouth calls, I feel pretty lucky if I don't gag at this point.

I will have 2 tags in my pocket for Colorado this spring, 1 over the counter tag, and 1 draw tag for a unit about 15 miles up the valley from my house. Really chomping at the bit to get going.

Colorado's season runs from April 9th, to May 22nd

I look forward to meeting everyone, electronically anyway.

Welcome, Jorgy! No need to worry about bugging anyone with questions! In fact, a question that you have could be one that I feel I have the correct answer for...until I hear something different from someone else. Ask away, and good luck on your first spring season!

Welcome to the team Jorgy and everyone for that matter!! It is going to be a lot of fun and a great way to enjoy the great out doors..

The only stupid question is the one not asked so feel free to ask away! We all will be trying to give input hopefully with the only intent to help you get a turkey! These birds can act dumb sometimes but they really are a smart bird to hunt after..

Shot your first turkey with a bow last fall! Congratulations! Hen or not it is a tough thing to accomplish! My very first bird was a fall bird and a hen with a bow as well. So I know it can be a hard thing to get done.. My first came the following spring after hunting them without any luck for 3 years prior to that. I have been fortunate enough to get a bird or 2 each spring after that. Last spring I only scored a jake after messing up on 2 toms early in the season.. That was my first year sense spring hunting began I only got 1 bird. But, I did have a hen fly into my truck while driving down the main road and I was allowed to keep for whatever that is.. So either way I ended up with 2 birds.. lol But, it is not my idea on how to get one and besides they can do some damage that way..

Good luck this spring and keep in mind what advise we all offer is nothing more than suggestions to try and help you along...

Phil has my vote for team leader. Turkey Killers 2016 sounds good to me.
As always I will be hunting here in Iowa, 2 birds. Missouri 2 birds. Nebraska 3 birds. Yes that's 7 birds that will be going to the score board. Maybe more if I can talk Momma in to a Oklahoma trip.

I'm hunting here in Iowa this year as well as Oklahoma. It'll be my first trip to Oklahoma so I am super excited. Was planning to go to Kansas again this year but that kinda fell through. Small chance I get to Missouri this year, we will see. Hopefully will have 4 birds anyway.

Capt. Phil and Turkey Killers 2016, sound good to me. Jorgy don't worry about gagging on the mouth call. I still gag on my mouth call, at the of the season, after using them for 25 years.

Thanks everyone and yes it looks like I am the captain once again.. Welcome to the team guys! Yes we will get this done this year..

Now for some who has been on a team with me as well as some of the team members from other teams has had trouble posting their pics.. I have no problem helping with getting the pics posted for you if any of you get stuck on that one.. If it is by cell pm me and I will send threw my cell number for you to get the pics to me.. Just make sure I keep the birds straight for you. Because sometimes I mess up when multiple birds are sent to me.. I have no problem with being called out on it..

Don't forget the most important thing is that you enjoy all your hunting time out there... It's about the hunt and getting a bird is a bonus to it the way I always figured it.. I hope we all have birds to post as well!! So good luck guys and happy hunting once your season rolls around!

Anyone else want to give some input into the team name? I also saw this one posted by a team member and it sounds good to me as well.. It made me chuckle at it in the smack talk thread.. Turknado Destroyers

OK guys I sent a pm to Arrowmaster to let him know I am the team captain for us..

We still have a couple of guys that has not signed in as of yet. I will send a pm to them if we do not hear from them in a couple more days as well. Hopefully they will show up soon..

I had to go for a check up with my Chemo Doc today.. All went well and he was quite pleased with how things are going. I do not have to see him for 3 more months! However I do have to see my eyes ears and throat specialists on April 12th and then on the 13th I will have to see my Radiation Doc for a check up. That last doc will do a PET scan which will tell them if all the cancer is out of me.. I am thinking the results will be great news.. Just an update on my cancer issue and it all has been great news so far..
