The next time I might be able to sneak in a hunt is Monday morning. If not then it won't be until next Saturday. Good luck to everyone else.

I am 5 for 5 for the people I have taken out. My last student shot a triple beard that scored NWTF 83.2675!!!! Holy cow.....I could have hunted that farm too?!

And I shot a double with my daughter. We have been trying to do that the last 5 yrs.
Birds score will be average. Was a two yr old and I figure somewhere in the low 50s.

But the smile on that boy's first ever bird was worth more than any score for me! And I simply told him and his mom....son this is like shooting a 16 point buck. A triple beard just doesn't happen much. Was the first I have touched. over 23 inches of beard!

And I have my pics but not time to get them uploaded. Maybe later tonight but I leave for my McCoy hunt and start my WI Zone 1 hunt also. I have 7 tags now in the weeks to come till the end of May!

Ps from what I remember [DON'T POST THIS JOE UNTIL I DOUBLE CHECK MY PICTURES ~ then it will be official]

Ok guys, I messed my dates up lol. Indiana is a boogered up place. The season is the 3rd Wed in April....except when the Wed is the 20th and then it becomes the 4th Wed...This is to make it easier for hunters to set vacations and I quote, "There is consistency in the dates." WHATEVER!!! So it now will open next week. Man we are late late late this year and I argue 1 day won't hurt the turkey population, but 1 week can hurt hunters.

Ha Joe! With that double with my daughter! I had 3 nice toms in front of us all in range all trying to get my Jenny to be theirs. At one point I had all three heads in my scope!

Congrats on all the nice birds guys. My season in CT opens this coming Wednesday. Just went to one of the properties I hunt and saw 5 birds. No longbeards though, hens and jakes. I heard a nice longbeard was taken during the youth hunt. Looking forward to getting out there. Unfortunately, after the first week I will be spending a week in Florida, this is when my family rescheduled their Disney vacation since we had to cancel just before Christmas. If I wasn't going to Disney, I'd be heading to Joe A's stomping grounds for work for a while though.

Here's my story I heard a lot of turks this morning at 530 by 630 no bird show up by 715 I saw two nice gobbler in the field coming right to my hen decoy they didn't make a sound. At 15 yards away I pulled back my bow and the turk dropped . The other turk flew about 20 yards then came right back to my hen for a good 10 mins. My turk score
10 in. beard
1 in. spur left and right
20.8 weight

Great job turkman!! By my ciphering, your tom scores 60.80 pts. That's a big bird. Nice job getting one with archery tackle too.

Send pix, and we can score your bird proper.
