Went out this morning to scout a spot. I heard 2 different birds and possibly 3. I will be heading back out to get a little closer and build some blinds.
RPD63 and I will be in the woods hunting next Sat. Just a public land that does not require a quota,
So more practice than anything. But it sure will be good to finally be in the woods.

Good luck out there guys. Archery season starts the 25th here and then shotgun 3 weeks after that. I'm going to try to get out archery season but not sure. This will be the 1st year that I am going to take my 7 year old son out. He doesn't know it yet but I have purchased a shotgun for him and plan on awarding it to him at our NWTF banquet on the 27th. I'm a committee member and he has been so involved in helping with that. So I thought why not give the little man some recognition.

Good to see you again bornagain!

That's cool Mottz, I'm sure he will love that. Is this his first year hunting with you or his first behind the gun?

He's been out a couple times before but just hasn't been around when the action really heated up. Needless to say, he got bored real quick. So now I'll have to get him out shooting before youth shotgun opens up. I think he will pick it up quick!

Mottz good to hear from you to, doing good and excited for the season to start.
Great for you and your son, I am sure he will be suprised and very happy.
Get him back out there and on some birds and he will love it and be your hunting buddy

had one bird gobble yesterday morning... then silence. We walked up on some hogs, found a new duck pond, and headed home. I am going out again on Tues morning.
