Gonna see 40's this coming week here in. Northern Mich. and it's gettin me fired up!! Workin a lot of weekends and both my boys are gonna be able to hunt this year so not sure yet how hard I'm gonna get to hit em but I promise I'll do my best. Either way it's gonna be a good one! Good luck guys!!!

Checking in! It's a shame to hear there are less and less teams each year, but I agree with J76, probably better to have less people with more reliability than the other way around. Here's to hoping this snow thaws out soon up here on this mountain. It's hard to think about turkey hunting while still wearing a winter coat.

Drove my truck out on the ice in the middle of the lake yesterday ice fishing, and now looks like mid 40s and sunshine all week! I am SOOO ready to see some bare ground again! Looks like I'll be able to start scouting within a couple weeks. Can't wait to hear that first gobble!!

The ditch you were sitting by will be waist deep and water out about 20yds into that field from my side. Lots of rain still n forcast but it is what it is.

I should be good for a few birds this season. I'm just ready for this crazy weather to settle. We have had ice, sleet and snow for the last couple of weeks. It's not supposed to do this down here in Louisiana. I'm ready for Spring and lots of gobbles. Not sure if this name was used years ago, but what about Sons of Fanarchy?

Lol! Like the name and also agree about the weather. Last Wednesday was 78 and Thursdays high was 36......

Sons of Fanarchey, I like it! Only two days of 40 deg. Weather and the fields are opening up. Warm weather and sun into next week. Can't wait!!!

Hey checking in!! Looks like a great team. I will hunting Texas, Kansas, and Missouri again it looks like again this year, don't know if I will get as lucky as I did last year with 6 birds but I hope to put a few on the ground. I like the name as well. Let the fun begin for me March 21st as I will be hunting in Kimble County Texas!!!!!!!!!!

Who wants to be captain? I guess we will go with Sons of Fanarchy if everyone agrees. I'm going to my property this weekend to listen. I haven't seen or heard anything yet. It's got me a little concerned. I'm usually loaded with hens and jakes by now. I haven't even seen a hen. This time last year I was filming 7 longbeards. I sure hope things change soon. Season opens on the 28th. I'm not too worried about Texas. This should be a good year with all the rain they have been getting.

Btw season opens here tomorrow, not sunday! Guess since the 15th fell on Sunday this year they moved it back a day........bad news is that we've had a toad strangler of a rain the last week and more today to come, and Im going to have to guide some friends on other properties until my place drains so I can hunt.

Never heard a gobble! I finally just sat down by a field and was going to wait it out a while since they didn't gobble. I yelped.....nothing. Then he flew down about 45yd in front of me! Don't have a clue where he came from. Had to get gun out of my lap and doing so made a bad shot. Ended up running him down in some 5yr old pines and saw briars. It got ugly! Hahaha
Took someone out on another property this morning and heard 4 or 5, but they were way off line and only gobbled a few times. Called up hens in two spots and neither group had a Longbeard with them.

My bird was:
18.2lbs
R spur 7/8"
L spur 7/8"
Beard 10-5/8"

EFH, your bird scores 56.875

18.125 + 8.75 + 8.75 + 21.252 = 56.875

Way to get things going so early! I've still got quite a bit of time before my season opens here in connecticut and Im trying to find a weekend to hunt in Nebraska.
