Sorry boys retired life has filled up all my time.
I am about to start my second hunter safety education class and as soon as i finished that i start a thiird. Each class is a day past two weeks. While the 3rd class is in session Easter weekend i teach a learn to hunt program for the state. Yep is on turkeys.
Then as soon as the last class is over Wi opens and i have 3 people to help.
Thus i will get here when i can.
I start in Mi on the 20th and should fill that tag by the 21st. And that's a fact. If we don't tag out on opening Tuesday has been a given for the past 15 yrs.
And i will be hunting somewhere till the end of May........

Tagged out! I busted two during the first week of the season. Here's the numbers for my best bird. I busted him at 35-40yds, but it was hardly a classic spring set up. I drove down a fire/forestry road to check some areas I have hunted before. I busted two small flocks of turkeys on the road. When I got to a curving rise, I stopped the truck and walked up. I threw a few yelps out, and got nothing. As soon as I topped the rise, two toms gobbled. I yelped again, once, and they cut me off. The next thing, there's two birds in the road. One looked at me and gobbled. I waited for them to separate, since I only had one tag left. The "gobbler" gobbled again and high stepped behind a bush. The second bird was walking away from me. Once his friend cleared the road, he stopped for a second...Boom! Pix coming.

Congrats Joe A! You get my vote for Captain, seems like you won't be spending much more time in the woods chasing birds this season. With any luck, I'll be heading your way next week. Got a hotel reservation at Waikiki Beach anyway. I'll find out at work tomorrow if the trip is still on. Turkey season doesn't start here until late April so I've got a bit to go before I hit the woods.
