Sounds like quite a trip trying to get yourself around in order to have him come in for the shot.. I have had a bird get away on me once.. I went in looking for him as everything is so damn thick up here where I hunt.. I made some circles and came across him.. I fired and missed. It took flying a short ways farther and I ran into where he went. I never had anymore shells with me so I just worked on trying to tire him out. I findly caught up to him and dropped down on my knees to grab him quickly. When I did I lost a couple of tail feathers from him. But i never gave up and got him.. You did a great job at getting him swampbuster!! I do need to know the state and time of kill as well as weapon of choice.. I am guessing shotgun? Thanks and congratulations!!
