Thanks. There are axis in the area but I have never seen them while on the stand. They move around a lot. I normally get them on camera 3 or 4 times a year. I have have been hunting in the hill country for 11 years and have never had a chance to kill one but it is very high on my list.

Congrats on the Doe DTC!I have made it out a couple of times, one time covered up with Does to the point I couldn't get a shot off in fear of spooking (surrounded), was at full draw when this happened, on an Doe, but she went the other way. Weather is unseasonably warm here for this time a year, (+10) in the mid to upper 70's and almost 80 this weekend, going to give it a couple of weeks before I sit ....I think

It's been plenty warm in MO too. I will probably try to take
my son out Fri night and Sat morning. Headed to St. Louis Saturday
to watch my Cardinals play. Acorns are starting to fall and that's changing the deer movement. Good luck!

Walking into my stand this morning I heard at least 4 deer snort as I was passing through to the stand. I settled into my stand a little after 6. I had about 45 minutes cause legal shooting light was at 6:47. About 6:45 I saw a couple deer coming so I got ready. They both looked to be about the same size. They slowly made their way past me and I waited til I had a perfect quartering away shot. She was about 15 yards away and I let her have it. I looked at my phone to check the time and it was only 6:57. She kicked up her back legs and took off running down the hill. She piled up maybe 70 yards away in the back yard. I only had to drag her another 70 or 80 yards to the truck.
