I just got back from Texas. I didn't see no big toms just two hens. My worse hunt ever.

My real hunts have not even started yet. IL has some decent public, but nothing like Wisconsin. But as a nonresident I can only get the later season tags. I have 4 of them, all in May. I expect to take at least 2 toms. First hunt there starts May 1st.

turkman, Wow you should have just stayed home and hunted on Choutaou Island like I did. It sucked equally, but without the travel expense!

I know it doesn't help our team any but my buddy from OK that has the leases in TX we hunt came in to hunt with us in MO. He killed 1 on our farm this morning. He was a pretty good bird. Swap hunts can be a great way to hunt other areas at a fraction of the cost.

BEST HUNT OF MY LIFE!
Had my beautiful wife with me, and had this tom LITERALLY in our laps for 10 minutes!

He was determined to find where he was hearing the "hen" and since we were each just sitting motionless against a tree, he was spitting and drumming within 36 INCHES of us! This was my first time hunting IN the forest.

You talk about a rush! I didn't take the shot until he looked like he was going to lose interest. WOW.. what a show!

Weapon - Shotgun (the death hammer)
Pounds 23.5
Beard 10.5
Left spur 1
Right 1

A bit of advice... don't try and take that turkey foot from her! She gets so excited when I gt home with a bird because she knows she's gonna get the feet.

mmmmmmm.........delish!

Just can't let my fiancée see that. She's Chinese and that is their favorite part.

Can you find the chicken feet dish at one of our spring festival banquets?

Arjuna and Phish, you guys still alive? Haven't heard from a few of you in a while. What's going on? We're still in first, but there are a lot of guys out there just now hunting and some who haven't even started. Our total score is 763.5875 ( 12 birds ). Best bird per hunter is still 337.825.

I am a crazy redneck, but I actually love eating "unusual" food items! I have eaten chicken feet on a few occasion, and although I will say the flavor was good... I need a little more substance to my meals
