Havin a hard time gettin excited about spring gobblers right now tho. Would be nice to see the temps above 20 at least!! Been a brutal winter in northern Mich. hope there's at least a few that made it.

I'm here! Opening Day is two weeks from yesterday. Weather is starting to get right down here.

A prize for you folks. I am going to offer a slate call to whoever takes the biggest turkey, the most turkeys, and the first turkey. If you are interested you will just need to PM your address when the season is finished.

If there is a tie we will cross that bridge when we get there.

It was 70 here in N Alabama yesterday and 30 today. It will start coming back up here next few days.

Checking in. Will be hunting birds in Iowa this year, maybe Wisconsin too depending on tags & seasons. I'm pretty flexible on team name and captain.

Hey J, nice to be teamed up again. Things are going well here, besides the 3'of snow laying on the ground. How things with you. Looking forward to getting some gobblers worked up.

Last year we saw tons of what I call "Super Jakes". The 2012 season saw a very warm and dry February. The hatch was very early. By opening day in April the birds were winding down.

Fast forward to 2013 season we had tons of older jakes sporting 6" beards and gobbling like big birds. The jakes were everywhere. 2012 was a very, very good hatch.

This year I expect a lot of 2 year old birds. What 3 year old birds are out there will be drowned out by the huge numbers of big 2 year olds.

I'm pumped.

Time to start scoutting, This is the last Saturday I'm working till season is over with. No snow or ice in this weekend so hopefully sunday afternoon I can start checking fields.

I seen a hen and a longbeard in a field today. its finally startin to warm up enough to get them movin.
