Beautiful birds! Hoping i can connect on a nice one again this year. Maybe the two that came in with my bird will still be kicking around! Draggin beards is all i can say!

Gotta get rid of all this snow and ice!

I sent a PM and or an e-mail to all who currently are no-shows.......trying to get a handle on this thing.....

And for those who have hidden their e-mail - well we have our ways to find that out and I will then use that.

I've lowered the bar last year, so I have to get something better than a jake this year.
Been seeing a decent flock the last few weeks. Gobblers were scarce around here last year. Can't wait to restock the freezer. Down to one package of tenders left. They will be dinner soon.

Jake here! I'll be hunting PA this year, our season doesn't open until May 3rd. I've got a bit of a wait yet! Hopefully this snow and cold this year wasn't tooo brutal on the population.

And the first of my kill tags came true.....I got my Michigan tag but its gonna cost this year - they raised their fees almost 300%

I was hoping to hunt pa this year,but work and kids schedule wont allow it. Its all good though, i get to try and help my fiance get her first turkey this season here in ny!

I'm hoping to help a friend get her first bird in PA this year as well, but all my personal hunting will be done here in western MD. There's definitely a lot of birds in PA!

I'm itching to get out... so much snow here though and cold weather... seems not end in sight.
Looking forward to bringing my 9 year old daughter out again this year.. .she shot her first tom at age 7 (20lb) and a big jake last season. She is hooked.
How did everyone do last year?

Western MA Hunter, keep taking her out and killing like that and she'll quickly become the addict my father turned me into when I was that age XD Thankfully this last snow storm missed western MD and for the first time in almost two months, I can see grass outside. Hopefully we don't have anymore snow and ice, poor turkeys will still be frozen in the trees by the time I get out there if we do.

I broke a 2 year drought with an awesome tom. 9 3/4" beard, 20+ lb 1 1/4 spurs! Felt good to sling him over my shoulder after so long.

I did okay last year ~ success rate at 87.5% for myself and 66.6666666% for those who I took out and that 1 or 33.333333333% decided not to shoot at the several opportunities I called in. Was his choice.

or in other words

I shot 7 birds for 8 tags I had. (Only 1 Jake and that was a mistake - he fooled me good!)
I called in birds for all 3 other hunters but only two took birds. One was a 23 lb 5 oz dandy and dangit - I missed for a double with that kid again - 2 years in a row andshe no longer gets 1st shot.....

My past dreams


My bearded hen shot on my 20th anniversary of turkey hunting in Upper Mich. and the 3rd double beard tom I saw shot on my 10th year in WI.
I am going on 28 or 29 yrs......

I had three come in, all draggin beards. Took the first one that stopped. The other two ran 10 yards and stopped. Wish we could shoot more than one a day because i wouldve dumped one of them.

shot 3 nice toms and a huge jake that I thought was a tom last year... 20lb jake!

Well with close to 30 yrs experience chasing these birds I missed 3 times int he last 2 years while hunting with my daughter.

I get to dang excited! then I just blow a hole in the dirt. My 30 yr old kid on the other hand is 2 for 3. Oh and she don't get first shot this year.

She sent me a ringtone for my Iphone of a hen yelping and then shotgun blasts like 5 tto 7 in a row and then the tell Gobbling which she informed me "Hey ya missed ~ again!"
So no 1st shot for her. :D
Course it will be quite silent as I am using a bow with her this yr. She is back up.

And I expect for us to have the birds on the ground by 4/22 if not opening of 4/21!
