Cashed in big time yesterday with by far my biggest bird ever.

10.5" beard
27#
15/16" and 1 1/8" spurs

Season opened yesterday in MI. Had a group of turkeys (1 tom) come in front of mem but only 1 hen came to the decoy. The tom and others stayed back and eventually went to another field. I packed up and followed, only for them to bust me. I moved back later and saw them walking towards a different property. So I waited a long time without hearing or seeing anything. Thinking about quitting for the day, I decided to take a walk to give me back a rest, while hitting the slate at the same time hoping for a response. 15 minutes later I got my response. I saw him with a hen, quickly moved to the edge of the field they were heading to and JUST made it in time as they crossed the fence line. The hen angled to my right, and if the tom would follow her foot steps it would have been out of range. BUT, he "curled" in, walking right in front of me at 23 yards.

Last year was the first time I shot one over 20# (22), then I got this 27#er. Im pretty pumped. I'll get some pics on here soon.
