Fieldmouse checking. I plan on hunting in NC and MD right now. I could ad in VA, PA and WV into the mix. Who knows. Just looking to get out in the woods and up high.

East central Illinois here. We have some cooler weather coming up this weekend, so I'll be out checking cams & stands and clearing some shooting lanes.

I hope more members check in soon...

I guess I should have said where I'll be too. I'll be hunting a small spot (I mean small) just north of downtown Chicago as well as West Central Illinois. Only have a few nice ones on cameras so far. A little disappointed by they seem to start to show their faces on camera starting in September so we shall see!

When do we write them off and ask the mods for alternates?

I don't know. I thought that was up to them to take care of it. At least I sent them a message letting them know. Not that first one has responded. Oh well.

They need to combine teams 6 and 9, seems like both are really lacking check ins. Very surprising, I've been doing these contests for about 6 years and never had more than 2 people not check in.

Anybody seeing any good bucks yet? I have a few 130 to 140 on camera. I know the neighbor has some giants on camera. Should be a good October!

I sent a PM to fieldmouse. He's gonna give it a week for alternates to sign up and then fix the teams. It looks bad, but it sounds like he's got it under control.

I checked cameras a couple weeks ago. All I had on film was does and smaller bucks. The only bucks that were repeat customers were a spike and a sixer. I'm not too concerned, though. I expect bigger bucks are still in bachelor groups around here. Another couple weeks and a good cold snap and I figure I'll start seeing more action. I'm also surrounded by some big corn fields that are about to get cut, so patterns are gonna change in a big way soon.

I leave in the morning for WV for a 3 day rifle bear season. I'll try to check in. See ya next week!

Congrats on the kills. If you have a smartphone, you can prop it up, pointing at your deer and go pose with it. Then you just watch the video, pause it when you like the shot and take a screen shot.

I'm back from WV. Didn't get a bear but I can hunt them during bow season for deer. Here in Ohio deer season starts this Sat. Oh yeah!

What I can do is take one of my small cams and set it on delay to take pics..

Dont feel too bad about it. I still wish I could go back to the day when a cell phone was just a phone. Those were better days!

Do we know how many people we are still missing? We need to combine team 6 and 9, both teams are really lacking. Everyones season will soon be open. Team 9 also already has two bucks down!

Merging the teams would make sense to me. I think we're still short 4 or 5. I sent a pm to Fieldmouse, and he said he was bringing in some alternates, but that was a while ago. Maybe its time to make more noise about it.

Anybody been out at all? Last night was my first sit and didn't see a thing. Hopefully I'll get out again Wednesday then head down to Central Illinois to get a couple evening sits and a morning sit in. Looks like we got the bad luck draw this year and have four no shows. Hopefully they let us enter in two bucks (where legal) this year or we're in trouble. :)

Ive been out almost every day since season opened. Nothing yet. Had 2 bucks come in right at dark tonight, they were not shooters!

I've been ready to get out since season opened, but every time I have a chance to go, the wind is ridiculous. I thought about going out today, but the wind was 20 mph, gusting to 30. I never did like sitting in a tree when its that breezy...

I can go one better than that. I've been having the same problem here in Ohio. So tonight it's 21 mph winds and I go anyway. Get all set up and nock my arrow and the rest has loosened up. I mean real loose. Pick up all my stuff and went back home.. I did get everything back to where it was and I'm good to go in the morning.

Well, I'm rained out of the field again. If the rain lets up, I may try to head out in the morning. It might be cloudy and damp, but at least the wind wont be so bad.

Was out last night and today. Beautiful night to be out tonight. I had a lot of does come in and feed on some corn we just knocked down. I had plenty of shots at 20 yards but was holding out for a buck.

Hopefully they can add the alternatives on to teams soon. I know there are guys trying to jump into the competition. If we don't get a full team soon I have a bad feeling we don't have a chance.

Went out Friday & Saturday, too. Wind was totally wrong for hunting my favorite stands, so I tried hang back a bit. Ended up hanging a little too far back and only saw a few does, but never got a shot. No worries - I'm just gettin started and there's a whole lot of hunting season left!

Nothing to report in so far. Not going to get to hunt much this week. If it's not raining in the morning I'll try to go.

Yep, we need all the help we can get! It doesn't look like they are adding people to the team for the "no shows" this year so were going to be behind the 8 ball on this one.

I went out a few times Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I'm finally starting to see some decent bucks on my trail cams, and I saw one one of them a couple times over the weekend. Never got a shot at him, but the season is just getting started, so I'm still pretty optimistic.
