It was only 62 degrees here in East Central Illinois today. I felt like I should have had a bow in my hand the entire day. This weather is not making the wait for opening day any easier. Maybe if it was hot as hell and super humid but 40 degree mornings with overcast and 60 degree afternoons just plain sucks! LOL

looks like a nice spot for sure! I have 10 acres that is surrounded by private Ag and designated wildlife area, not many hunters, even during Gun.

just noticed that I haven't hit the "Quote" button when responding, Ha!, you guys were prolly thinking "whats this guy smoking?" Anyways, realized my cam was not working, therefore not taking pics due to a faulty card, explains why no pics I guess. Raining all day here but going to clear for morning and I will be in the tree well before the sun pops. Did a little exploring and walked an edge of a bean field on the backside of the property, see a bachelor group of bucks, one really nice 10 and a high 8, couple smaller ones as well, so they are around. Good Luck to all that sit in the a.m. and lets rock this challenge!

Went out to night and seen a few does and a small eight that's been hanging around the area. I know there's some nice ones hanging around though, they will show sooner or later.

Well I went tonight and saw 17 does and fawns. Could have shot at 11 of them. It was a fun first hunt of the new season.

I didnt actually get to hunt but I did get out in the woods with my son for his first hunt. He slept most of the time and ask that I only wake him when there were deer around. Saw a few but nothing he wanted to shoot as he wants to best his older brothers 6pt from last year. All in all a good weekend. Wish the woods would dry up a bit.
