Hey team; checking in and the action has already started. Our season began Sept 1 and I've been out 3 mornings so far - had a few exciting looks at nice bucks but not close enough.

I own the domain name and I'm willing to post our kills on this page so we have one cool central place to have them during the season.

But be aware that Peak will only shoot something if he can do it through a cheap trick.

Count me happy as a clam having WIbuckchaser as captain and belonging to the Big Buck Mafia. Or would WIbuck have a different title in that position?:s1:

I hunt all public land here in MD, on the shore. Here are my last couple years of entries for the contest. Pretty much the type of deer I see every year 110-140ish.

Here is So MD, the opportunity for a 140-150 class buck is realistic, but rare. There are no lack of nice bucks around, but they know the score and are mostly nocturnal. All hunting now is practice for when the rut comes in, lol. Still, one can get lucky...
So far, I've had a few near opps for does but never got the right shot angle. I had a nice buck come by the other day on the local Navy Base, but I was in earn-a-buck territory with no doe yet.

getting things tied up at work to make some time to hunt , Looks like you guys got all the big bucks figured out already good luck

Early archery season is over and we're now well into firearms. I've had a rotten cold for the past week and am just now crawling out from under my rock. We can still use archery gear even in rifle season and the area I hunt usually gets very little gun activity. So I'll be sneaking out as soon as I feel up to it and see how spooked the deer are.

I got out opening weekend once and just saw does. They all stayed just out of range. Unfortunately right now I am working and staying 2.5 hours away from home and working 10 hours a day and 6 days a week so I don't have much time to get out right now.

I passed up a modest 8 ptr over the weekend (~10 yds), and had a few close calls with does. The deer are feeding under the whiteoaks around here, no need to look anywhere else...

I passed a small 8 Friday evening as well at 23 yards. Prob 100". Hunted last night as well and saw 9 does. Needed about 8 more yard to clear some brush to have a shot. I'll be out Saturday morning in the swamps chasing Sika deer. Good luck to everyone.

hey guys just checking in..sorry so late.. I have already been hunting in Kansas a bit, missed a 140ish. Battery died on the rangefinder so had to guess the yardage.

I haven't been able to get out once yet this year. AHHHHH GOING CRAZY... Family and kids... I went out yesterday and tightened all the stands and check the clover, looks great... All is set to go. Time to defend my biggest buck title from last year... LOL.. Good luck fellas....

Best morning so far for close action. I had roughly 10 does and fawns (lost track) milling about the various trees and bushes, ranging from 5 to 50 yards. Two bucks also attended, a spike and a real nice 4x4. The big guy didn't quite present himself and I couldn't move enough to help my cause - too many eyes. Will try again tomorrow.

i have been out the last two afternoons been warm in the 70's.have seen a few small bucks no does yet.the weather is going to change this afternoon cool and rainy.check back later good luck all!
