Good to hear you guys are starting to see action picking up. I shot a 8pt buck Sunday night. He isn't the biggest but it's been quite a few years since I shot one with my bow.

I'll post pics and try to get him scored this week.

Congrats on knocking one down. Did an all day Sunday sit and saw 6 deer, 4 does and two bucks. The buck I saw was pushed out of a bedding area at 2pm by a few other hunters who entered the adjacent parcel across the road. He was a big body deer with at least 5 pts on the left, I have not seen him on any of my three cameras so not sure we he came from. Never made the turn South toward my stand just galloped off to the East once he crossed the road.

The does I saw were running the other side of the ridge but couldn't hunt that stand due to a SW wind. Things are really picking up, starting to see a big rub line around the North end of the bedding areas, hopefully I can get a shot before too much more pressure pushes them totally nocturnal.

Thanks. Well here he is, I scored him and posted to the scoring thread tonight.

Last weekend sat sat/sun AM and PM. Only saw 2 does leading up to Sunday, I spotted this buck about 45 minutes before dark. He worked a couple scrapes and came right by my stand. Never got a great look at him, but looked like a shooter at first and realized he was borderline as he got closer. He walked to my last shooting lane and I stopped him and let him have one. First deer I've shot with an expandable (NAP Spitfire Max), he bounded two or three times and stopped... no more than 25 or 30 yards away from the shot. Wheezed a couple times then rolled over - first one I've seen drop with a bow.

He's not the biggest but it's been several years since I got one with my bow and there haven't been as many bucks around this year it seems so I couldn't pass him up.

Nice looking buck, do you know what he dressed out at? For the past 12 hours we have been seeing wind gust 50-60 with heavy rain. The weather is suppose to break during the early morning so I should see a lot of activity tomorrow.

Thanks guys. I didn't weigh him, but he had a lot of fat on him. After skinning there was a thick layer of fat on his whole back, probably 1" thick towards the hinds.

Great buck again Hoyt. Good luck to the rest of the team, I'll be looking forward to hearing how everyone's doing.
