Nice bucks there FSH. Good job there Zubba. I prob wont be getting out much more this year. My son was born last Thursday. So needless to say I will be preoccupied. I had a great year anyhow. Lets keep the ball rolling!

I headed to NE this past weekend for opening rifle. Was able to connect with this 10pt. He was guarding a bedded doe while chasing two smaller bucks away. The wind was 40+ gusts. It allowed me to sneak in to about 30 yds and wait for an opening in the willow brush. It was pretty intense. All I could see were antlers going back and forth for 30 minutes til the doe busted out and the buck followed. My girlfriend was with me, and she was shaking the whole time. After the buck was down she said she's hunting next year. So thats a plus.
I went out tonight with the bow to try and get a doe for my neighbor. Had a small 6pt chase a doe under my stand, and a 130ish 8pt chase some does about 100yds from the stand. It was pretty hard staying in the stand though. The temps dropped to 10 with 10 mph winds.

Well done nutz!
I've had deer in range my last 7 outings, but never the good shot or dinks. Tonight I had a nice hammer at 12 yds, unfortunately just a few minutes past shooting hours - he will be in my dreams, lol.

Well, it's not the big boy I was after but it was the 3 1/2 year old management 8 pointer. The great thing about it is I was hunting with my wife and she took out the management 5 1/2 year old 6 pointer. I do believe her buck will score more than mine though. I started hunting with a crossbow in 1996. Last year was my first year with a compound. So, this is my first buck with a compound and it is also my wifes first and our first double. It was also my longest shot, 35 yards. I didn't find her buck though for 2 days. She had good shot placement but didn't get alot of penetration and only got one lung. Here are pics of both. No score yet. Her buck was well over 200 pounds.
