Good Luck! I am hoping to check my cams tonight and trim a few more branches. Season opens on Saturday here in VA.

Monday morning hunt went like this. 6:25 a deer comes in too dark to even see what it was. 6:30 another one comes in ditto above. Between 6:30 and 7:00 I heard several walking close by my stand but I could not see them. Finally at 7:10 I had one come past the stand that I could see. It was the same 5 pointer I saw on Saturday. A decent doe was with him. I had about a 20 yard broadside shot on her. The only thing is the shot wasn't exactly in one of my shooting lanes. But if I didn't take this shot it would have been my last chance to take her out. The shot felt and looked good then crack!!!!! You guessed it. I hit a stinking branch. It never fails. I hit a branch 1 time every year. There is a positive to this though. I got this out of the way early so I should be good from here on out, lol!!!!! I will be heading back out this evening. Good luck to the rest of you!!!!!

The dreaded branch. I've killed a few of those over the years.

At least the branch wasn't blocking a 190" er. Lol. That happened to me a couple years ago

Just had a small buck and doe cruise by about 60 yards away.

I checked the cam this evening and put out a dripper over a mock scrape. 1 shooter stuck around. Hopefully he makes a daylight appearance this weekend!

I saw alot of deer tonight. The only thing that came into range was a 2 1/2 year old 7 point with a funky looking rack. I definitely did not want to take him out. I saw at least 7 or 8 does that would have been worth shooting but none of them came close enough. I also saw 2 other 1 1/2 year old bucks and several fawns. Next time out is possibly Wednesday morning then Thursday morning for sure. Aftre that it won't be until Saturday evening. Good luck guys!!!!! Keep at them!!!!!

I had two does ~15 yds away yesterday afternoon where some red oaks were dropping, but the does kept behind two holly trees - too many branches! My partner was about 150 yds away, and he nailed a big doe that only went 20 yds.

Keep at it guys!
