If I see one more fawn without a momma I am going to puke. This year is strange, I have seen so many fawns without a doe in sight. Strange))))

Well yesterday was a bust, one ill timed coughing fit alerted a bachelor group with a nice 3.5 year old 8 point and a 4.5 year old 10 point to my location and they gave me the slip. They were both nice enough I would have gladly filled my tag on my first evening on the stand.

Well the season here starts on Saturday. I am sitting on go. Depending on movement I might hunt the entire week.

That's some tough luck, at least we're just getting started.

krub - have you ever hunted over in Davisdale CA? (Columbia area) I was up there a few years ago and found a pretty good spot but haven't checked out much of the area. I have another trip planned in a couple weeks.

No I haven't, I've always stuck to hunting our family farm.

Hung a stand behind my in-laws house yesterday afternoon and sat til dark, didn't see anything but squirrels. Getting out tomorrow morning hopefully I'll catch one of the bucks that busted me Friday coming back through to his bed.
