Canuck2 even though this is a contest and we want you to shoot a buck it still needs to be a deer you would be happy with. It was a good choice to pass up a younger deer this early in the season. Good luck to ya buddy!

So I'll keep looking for something with more steaks to hang my only tag on.
I would have probably done the same. There will be a bigger one.

Great job, huntalot! I will be out of town this weekend, but will hit the woods next Monday morning! I will hunt a few days next week on a WMA before statewide opens next Saturday. Then I will be primarily on my private properties. Best of luck to everyone!

Ok they have given us two alternates for the contest. Hopefully they get checked in and have a few 180" deer on camera.

lilman19 and bkautz, welcome. I think we have the makings of a humdinger of a team this year. Some very nice looking bucks there, bkautz.

I messed up big time this evening. Had one of the nice 4 pts (western, you guys) I've been coveting at less than 20 yd. I had come to full draw as he approached but he stopped facing directly toward me. I held forever and finally had to let down, figuring a redraw might work when he turned. But I clattered my arrow against the rest when I let down and *poof* - quick disappearing act.

Checking in. Sorry, been a rough few weeks. Threw out my back and dog had to have a tail amputation. But I'm here!

I'll be hunting on our 250 acres in western Wisconsin. My buddy just bought some land close to my place as well so I can try there.
We use qdm and have the big boys running around, I'll get some pics/vids up from last year to get the blood flowing in some big boys!

My main hunt will be first week of November for 10 days. I'll get a weekend or 2 before hand but that's the main one.
