I hate to say it but I'm done for the year. We made the call that between our land and the neighbors that we have shot enough deer for the year. I went and checked out my local spot and haven't had a deer on camera in a month. For some reason with my local area, as soon as the leaves are gone (around November 15th) the deer just disappear. Hopefully someone will be able to get a doe in the next few days and secure a victory for us!

Keep after it Johnny the doe points will help..

Fastetti I know what you mean. We have had 10 deer killed in the square mile I hunt. Two were big 9 pts 140 and 150 class hit by cars. A big 10 poached, a young buck poached. My buck. The 13 point was shot, two 8 points that score 120s each. a 150 nine point and a big one during shotgun that I haven't seen yet. hoping I'll see something good next year. I'm done for this year.

Wish some of the other guys would have stopped in but our team has done an awesome job.

I'm done for the year fellas. I was at full draw on a personal goal I've set for myself (net 170). his 6th+ senses kicked in & I was never able to make the shot. No matter, I had a great season & several I could have taken shots at. Pics are Deer i had at 20 yds & less... Good luck & may 2014 bring you all the joy possible for you & yours.
I had many chances & let em walk....NEXT YEAR I will meet the goal..

Well, I'm all loaded up and I'll be leaving work at 11:30. I figure I'll get on stand about 2:30 this afternoon. It looks like it's going to be a great weekend to kill one.

I came so close twice, but mother nature worked against me both times. Stupid swirling wind.

I still have one more weekend before the contest ends. I hate to burn another vacation day, but I'm going to take Friday off again and give it all I've got.

Opticalman, huh? That was a bit before my time. I joined the Navy straight out of high school in 1981 and retired in 2008. I did tours on five ships: One aircraft carrier, one Knox class frigate and three amphibious transport docks. We hauled a lot of marines on those last three ships.

Well, I'm all loaded up and ready to leave work at 10:30 this morning to give it one last try for the team. This weekend should be better conditions for hunting than last weekend. We'll see.
