I'm Nathan, 45 years old. Live in Lubbock, Texas.

I'll be hunting mule deer in New Mexico on a 3rd choice tag that I probably won't be very picky on.

I own 160 acres here in Texas and have a few decent bucks on camera this year, just need to connect with one of the one that makes my hit list this year.

I've already shot the biggest deer of my life this year in Wyoming, but it was an elk so it doesn't count in the contest. I'll be elk hunting again in New Mexico as well.

That's it for me. Nathan

Tony from Wisconsin also known on this site as your friendly bartender.
I will only be hunting here in my home state but I like my odds of getting a deer.

Don from Iowa
I'm taking next week off for the early muzzy season here in Iowa and then doing antlerless late season in December.
Had an antlerless management hunt scheduled for the wildlife refuge north of me next weekend but due to the government shutdown it's been cancelled.

Eric from Indiana here. 27 years old. Last year I had a lot more time to hunt but now have a different job and it will be tougher. Have some nice bucks on cam at my woods plus permission to hunt many others. Hopefully I'll contribute more than a doe this year, but we will see

Management hunt back on now that the government is up and running. Hope to have a doe on the board this weekend.

Well the weekend was a bust
Saw three deer in two days and that was Saturday morning 10 minutes before legal shooting time, and I was in my truck on the way to my blind. For a refuge that's suppose to have an overpopulation of deer I sure didn't see it. Glad to see they were only doing the one hunt this year.
Don't have a problem not shooting one it's just upsetting to not see any at all.

I'm heading out in the morning for a couple days to try to shoot a New Mexico mule deer. The season is for 5 days, but I spent 5 days last week trying and failing to shoot a New Mexico bull elk so I don't think I'm going to be able to take much more time off this week. This isn't a prime unit for mule deer, but who knows, maybe I'll knock a decent one down.

Checking in. I'm a fulltime firefighter/emt. hunt at my home on nearly 1500 private acres, and on 1500 private acres in west central Tx.

Looks like we have all but one checked in.

I struck out on my New Mexico hunt. I didn't have very high expectations going in and it didn't even live up to those low expectations. Didn't see a single buck in 2 days and 20 miles on the boots.

Found a couple old sheds and that's it.
