Thanks springspur. My right shoulder is killing me. I thought it was because of that turkey I had tied to the end of my shotgun and carried over my shoulder and walked like that out of the woods for 1.75 miles. Now I know that the turkey isn't to blame.

I've had some pretty good breaks the past few years too. So far this year, I've hunted 3 times and brought home turkey on two of them. Last year I hunted four times and came home with turkey two of them as well.

I normally hunt private land up in Ohio, but since I am down here in Texas this year, I have been hunting nothing but public land. And apparently, public land seems to be paying off.

Hopefully, some of our other team members can help out soon. I know some states including Ohio start their seasons tomorrow. I still have two more tags to use before May 13. Good luck to ya all.

Way to go guys. I have been doing end of year testing with my students all week so I haven't been much help for our team. Did get on 2 Sunday but had 2 guys trespass on the farm I was hunting. They royaly screwed things up for me. I guess I'm getting old, they got some gone before I could get them. Hope to help the team out this weekend.

Sorry about the pictures not being the best, but i didn't get a chance to take them until my dad got home and that meant the bird had to sit in the cooler for 8 hours. He was stiff while i was trying to hold up the fan. But none the less here they are.

Default congrats ek

Nice bird, I had a frustrating hunt last night. Was sitting public land at an ambuscade spot cuz they are so call shy. Evening hunt, heard 1 gobble on the roost about 710 pm waited till about 740 to get up so i wouldn't spook any birds on the ground, heard footsteps behind me and thought it was a deer. Turned around and it was a longbeard..........arrrrrrrrrrrrrg. So much for tactics. Am going out all day tomorrow, and have reservations for the bombing range on sat.

Heading to PA tonight for opening day tommorow. It is suppose to be 25 degs with a wind chill of 19 tonight there. Sound more like deer season but hopefully the birds will be cooperative. Hope I can add a bird for our team because it looks like we need it. LOL
