My turkey hunt on the Navajo Res in Arizona lasted all of 45 minutes. Had 3 gobblers calling from the roost got set-up 40 minutes later the birds flew down a did a series of clucks on my box call a nice tom comes to about 15 yards I let my arrow fly and the cables come off :confused0024: no bird end of hunt. Helped a youth the rest of the hunt. All was not lost at least I found this nice lion killed mule deer skull.

Had a sweet last couple of days, making up for last Saturdays miss.

I decided to start my NY trip early and played hooky Monday to hunt the state land in the Pocono mountains in PA. I managed to kill a suicide 2-year-old that came strolling up the logging trail, strutting & gobbling the whole way. 20#, 8 1/2" beard, 3/4" spurs. NWTF Score: 52

Yesterday's hunt in NY was pretty much a washout, rain all morning & fog rolled in around 10. This morning started a little slow, had birds roosted but they flew down & immediately headed the other way. Got out quick & decided to try a honey hole we knew of, struck a gobble within 10 minutes. Had 2 birds coming in, decided to shoot the first one that showed himself, it was a 22# gobbler, 9" beard, 7/8" spurs. He spent a good 10 minutes hiding behind a tree before he finally presented a shot, my arms started cramping up holding the gun in position, LOL.:barmy: NWTF Score: 57.5.

I think that is it for me shooting this year, my youngest boy (14) has expressed a renewed interest in hunting, so I am going to spend the next 3 weeks trying to get him his first gobbler (or two). Wish me luck!!

Hey guys Looks like yall have been having success in the turkey woods. My season ended this past Sunday. I didnt do any good came close one morning but not close enough. Sorry I couldnt help out the team. Congrats to everyone who got a turkey

no need to apologize SB, thats why they call it hunting and not killing. I'm still trying to kill hear in Arizona. now you can get ready to put in for Gould next year in Arizona.
